(TNPA) adjudic\u00f3 un contrato de 760 millones de rands para reconstruir los muros del muelle de tablestacas de Maydon Wharf, en el puerto de Durban, al consorcio formado por Stefanutti Stocks y Axsys Projects.<\/p>\n<p>La primera fase del proyecto comenz\u00f3 en julio de 2011 con la reconstrucci\u00f3n del atracadero 12, que finaliz\u00f3 en noviembre de 2012. Un estudio de viabilidad de 2007 concluy\u00f3 que los muros del muelle se hab\u00edan deteriorado y que los muelles de tablestacas de acero, de 60 a\u00f1os de antig\u00fcedad, estaban fallando. <\/p>\n<p>Los nuevos muros del muelle y los muelles m\u00e1s profundos permiten instalar equipos fijos de carga y descarga en el muelle. Tambi\u00e9n garantizan la flexibilidad necesaria para adaptarse a futuros cambios en los distintos tipos de carga que se manipulan en el recinto, incluidos los contenedores. Entre otras cosas, el alcance de las obras inclu\u00eda la demolici\u00f3n de los muros de muelle existentes, la construcci\u00f3n de nuevos muros de muelle con tablestacas de acero y protecci\u00f3n contra la socavaci\u00f3n, y la demolici\u00f3n de z\u00f3calos y cimientos de hormig\u00f3n. El Muelle de Maydon es el mayor recinto de manipulaci\u00f3n de carga seca y a granel del puerto de Durban.
